On a yearly basis, a great majority of Ghanaian people die basically, because of the lack of these two things: ambulances & first-aid.
The lack of ambulances is significant but it's not the only issue because even when there is a major improvement there, the not existence of first-aid trained or even first-aid knowledge among the citizens, will still cause a lot of untimely deaths. The importance of first-aid is so huge because even with ambulances, you will need people that are able to stabilize the injured people.
Because of these our goal is to train and educate the general public in all works of life in first-aid. The goal is that over 80% of the Ghanaian population, knows how to apply first-aid properly. The project takes place in all 16 regions in Ghana. At the moment, we are in Greater Accra and Central Region(Gomoa).
The program when held, is most part just practical, it takes 2-4 hours per program and held on 3-4 days per week. The other days are for the volunteers to experience the country and culture. The main language for the project is English.
You don't need prior knowledge to take part on this program. Volunteers receive preparation and education training before the project starts. - You have to be at least 18 years old and need to speak English at the basic level. That is the minimum requirement.

When we embark on a program, the projects start typically at 10am and ends latest at 2pm. Before and after the program we get together to analyze how the program went and eat together. After the program, we drive back together to the residence where our volunteers stay and they have free time for the rest of the day. -
